1. More silhouette work, this time in a John Byrne Superman issue. It serves the story well enough (the guy was pumping out 2-3 books a month), and I like how iconic panel 3 feels, but Byrne’s shortcut pedigree was pretty suspect by this time.

2. Case in point, this Alpha Flight issue lettered by Michael Higgins. It’s no BEM, but hey, what is?

One of Kerry Gammill’s stand out covers. He was the perfect replacement for Byrne (alongside Roger Stern scripting). Gammill dropped out of comics back in… ‘96? A real solid, meat & potatoes type of cartoonist.

Is this image not enough? Do you wish that a couple of fans had a podcast and would talk about this cover in said podcast, maybe even discuss the comic itself, maybe even the other comics that came on this very month?
Okay. Fine. Here.

Trevor Von Eeden drew this incredible sequence for World’s Finest #305 in 1984(written by David Anthony Kraft and inked by Pablo Marcos). This still blows me away.

I amassed more TVE art here.
